Is Desire Controllable?

Part 1

About the project

In 2046, the world is forced to transform into anti-consumerism society because of wealth inequality and low social motivation. A more advanced form of autonomic enslavement has replaced capitalism and uses new technologies to bypass subjectivities and attach itself directly to the body and the subconscious.

This project aims to make some of these technologies and capitalism methods visible within the context of the future anti-materialism society. Implications for materialism and desire are discussed with the aim to move us towards becoming-other in a post-consumer society.

About the Project

Shopping decisions are influenced easily by friends as well as social media.

So, Nirvana Product is a nagging earphone. It could detect the goods users want to buy, and analyze whether it is necessary or just want through AI. If it is unnecessary, it would convince you in their parents or boss’s voice. If it doesn’t work, the earphone becomes speaker.
